CF man arrested on suspicion of fifth drunk-driving incident
CHIPPEWA FALLS — A Chippewa Falls man has been arrested on suspicion of OWI-5. Cassidy J. Muecke, 38, 113 W. Grand Ave., appeared in Chippewa County Court on Friday on possible charges of operating while intoxicated-fifth offense, operating after revocation, failure to install an ignition interlock device and a probation violation. Judge James Isaacson set a $500 cash bond and a return date for June 18. ...
Lions cheese curd sale kicks off busy summer
The Stanley Lions Club, at their May 13 meeting, planned a summer of activities. Kicking off a busy summer will be the Lions Annual Cheese Curd Sale, which will take place on May 30, May 31 and June 1. The sale will coincide with the Stanley City Wide Thrift Sales and will be held at Soo Park, across from the Post Office.
Stanley-Boyd School presents the Class of 2036
Stanley-Boyd School was a busy place on May 10th. The day’s festivities started off with the Senior and Kindergarten Graduate Parade where 2024 Senior Graduates walked the halls of Stanley-Boyd for one final time as students alongside graduating Kindergarteners whose school career was just beginning. Strolling through to the cheers of teachers, staff and fellow students, the graduates of all ages were beaming with smiles, and made memories that they will remember for years to come.
DHS unable to open investigation on HSHS
EAU CLAIRE — In a response to Eau Claire City Attorney Stephen Nick’s letter asking for an investigation into HSHS, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services said they do not have the authority. DHS Secretary-designee Kirsten Johnson in a letter sent to Nick said, while they agree with the concerns about the surprising and quick closure of the Hospital Sisters Health System hospitals, they cannot set up an investigation into the health system. ...
David Plummer: Bringing Stanley’s past to life
David Plummer hails from one of the oldest families to settle in Stanley, Wisconsin. Son of Don and Twila Plummer, Plummer fondly remembers growing up working at his parents’ hardware store, Coast to Coast, with his two siblings, Michele and Bruce. He graduated from Stanley-Boyd High School in 1976 and earned his bachelor’s degree in Industrial Development with a minor in Product Development from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Plummer went on to work as a technical leader at Anderson Windows where he was involved in creating many product designs and won various awards including the Governor’s Award (Minnesota) for Universal Product Design with his design for a sliding window handle that was usable by people with various dexterity abilities. Retired for the last two years, Plummer currently lives in Hudson with his wife, Jeanette, where they enjoy spending time with their children Christopher and Catelynn and their families and embarking on new adventures together.
EC man faces OWI cases filed just 13 days apart
