FIVE FIRE COMPANIES CALLED OUT FOR REPORTED FIRE IN MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP
Five fire companies were called out late last night for a reported structure fire in Montgomery Township. The call was reported at 9:53 PM for a location on Route 286. Glen Campbell, Commodore, Cherry Tree, Hope and Clymer Fire Departments were dispatched for a possible structure fire. Citizens Ambulance was also called to the scene. Crews were cancelled en-route, and officials with Glen Campbell fire department said that it was a controlled burn.

Fire Marshal: $300,000 Damage in Bell Twp. Blaze
The incident, which occurred in the early hours of March 2, 2024, caused significant damage estimated at $300,000. Trooper R. Krug arrived at the scene following the emergency call at approximately 12:16 AM. The blaze inflicted extensive damage on the home located off Route 36, affecting a family in the Punxsutawney area. The victims, a 29-year-old male and a 30-year-old female, whose names have not been disclosed for privacy reasons, were involved in the distressing event.
FIREFIGHTERS ANSWER SATURDAY NIGHT ALARMS FOR FIRES, CRASH
Indiana County firefighters had an active Saturday night, answering two alarms for structure fires and another for a crash. The fires were in West Wheatfield Township and Cambria County. At 9:34 PM, firefighters from Clymer, Commodore, and Cherry Tree were dispatched to Double Dam Road, northeast of Northern Cambria. Then shortly before 10:30 PM, Clyde firefighters were summoned to join Bolivar, New Florence, and Fairfield Township fire companies for a structure fire along Harrison Avenue in Robinson.

Man charged in deadly crash in Indiana County
A man is charged with homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence after a deadly crash in Indiana County. Prosecutors say 23-year-old Reed Tantlinger caused the crash on Route 422 back on Jan. 7. Investigators say he was driving over 100 mph when he passed a vehicle in front of him and crashed into the victim's car.

No details are available on a vehicle crash that brought three fire companies out Friday night. The crash was reported at 8:42 PM on Route 286 East in Cherryhill Township. The Clymer fire department was initially dispatched at that time, along with state police and Citizens’ Ambulance. Commodore and Cherryhill Township fire departments were called out 12 minutes later.
