McCroskey & Hilderbrand join the Jasper City Council
Two new members took their seats on the Jasper City Council on Tuesday. State District Judge Delinda Gibbs Walker swore in District 4 Councilwoman Angel McCroskey and At-Large Councilman LeQuin Hilderbrand. In the Municipal Election on Saturday, McCroskey defeated Steve Adams in the race for the District 4 seat which was being vacated by David Shultz who opted to not seek re-election, and Hilderbrand defeated At-Large Councilman Rashad Lewis.

Annual Texas Scholars Luncheon was held on Wednesday in Jasper
With the end of the school year quickly approaching, the Jasper Lake Sam Rayburn Area Chamber of Commerce held their annual Texas Scholars Luncheon to recognize the top graduates from both Jasper and Brookeland High Schools.
