Murder mystery dinner on tap Friday in support of Desert Shores Community Baptist Church
BULLHEAD CITY — Enjoy dinner and a show — with a touch of murder — this Friday at the Desert Shores Community Baptist Church. The church, 2625 Landon Drive, will host a murder mystery play and dinner Friday, May 17. Dinner begins at 5 p.m. and the play begins at 7 p.m.
Laughlin Township budget set at $27.8 million for the coming fiscal year
LAUGHLIN — A budget of more than $27.8 million for the township of Laughlin is included in Clark County’s overall budget for fiscal year 2024-25 to be reviewed at a public hearing of the Board of Commissioners on May 20 and slated to take effect when the new budget year begins July 1.
Home Depot delivers project grant to Fort Mojave Mesa Fire Department Station 92
FORT MOHAVE — Home Depot Foundation was once again ready to help a local fire department. The foundation recently awarded Fort Mojave Mesa Fire Department Station 92 a $16,500 grant for repairs. Last week, Team Home Depot volunteers from the Bullhead City and Lake Havasu City stores, along with volunteers from Sunrise Rotary Club spent a day giving the station a much needed refresh.
MVIDD calls special meeting Wednesday for call of election
MOHAVE VALLEY — The Mohave Valley Irrigation and Drainage District Board of Directors have scheduled a special meeting Wednesday. Directors will host discussion and take possible action regarding Resolution 2024-01 Call of Election of Division 1 Director and Director at Large. The election date is Nov. 12, 2024.
Bullhead City officials announce beginning of summer park season
BULLHEAD CITY — Officials announced Friday the start of the summer season at Community Park. During the summer season, non-residents of Bullhead City pay $20 for parking at Community Park, 1251 Highway 95. For residents of Fort Mohave and Laughlin, Bullhead City offers a $50 season pass which can be purchased at City Hall. This pass, which requires a government-issued ID to verify residency, allows unlimited parking throughout the summer.

LAS VEGAS – The Laughlin High School track and field team competed for the final time this season at the Southern 2A Regional Championship. The Cougars were led by their 4 x 200 relay team of Kendrick Thompson, Kian Ashby, Aeson Ashby and Marcello Faccioli. They set a personal record and finished in second place at 1:39.92.

Five people were taken into custody after deputies busted a drug den in Needles, California, officials said. Man's body found by rock collector in desert near Bullhead Parkway
BULLHEAD CITY — The body of a yet-to-be-identified man was found Monday night in the desert area near the Bullhead Parkway. The Bullhead City Police Department was notified of the discovery by a man walking in the wash near Milepost 2 on the parkway at about 8:20 p.m. Monday. The man was collecting rocks when he found the deceased man, police said.
