    West Virginia Strawberry Festival: Full 2024 schedule

    BUCKHANNON, W.Va. (WBOY) — The West Virginia Strawberry Festival in Buckhannon kicks off this weekend, with eight days of events scheduled.

    As one of the longest festivals in West Virginia, it has only been expanding since its first installment back in 1936.

    Here’s what to look forward to each day of the festival in 2024. More detailed information about where events are located is available on the official Strawberry Festival website .

    How to enter the Lewis County pumpkin growing contest

    Saturday, May 11

    • 10 a.m.-8 p.m. – Strawberry Gift Shop open (open daily through May 18)
    • 10 a.m. – Opening Ceremonies & Lighting of the Festival Flame
    • 2 p.m. – Pet Show

    Sunday, May 12

    • 2 p.m. – Mimosas with Mom – Designer Bag Bingo

    Monday, May 13

    • 7 p.m. – Buckhannon-Upshur High School Spring Choir & Orchestra Concert

    Tuesday, May 14

    • 4-11 p.m. – Food Court Market open (open daily through May 18)
    • 5-8 p.m. – Family Fun Night

    Wednesday, May 15

    • 5-10 p.m. – Live music & entertainment
    • 6 p.m. – Carnival opens (open daily through May 19)

    Thursday, May 16

    • 8 a.m. – Children of the Festival: Long Ago Exhibit opens (open daily through May 17)
    • 9 a.m. – Photography Exhibit opens (open daily through May 18)
    • 9 a.m. – Juried Art Show opens (open daily through May 18)
    • 9 a.m. – Quilt Show opens (open daily until May 18)
    • 10 a.m. – Children’s Strawberry Blonde Contest
    • 10:30 a.m. – Diaper Derby
    • 12 p.m. – Arts & Crafts Show (open daily until May 18)
    • 6:30 p.m. – Junior Royalty Parade
    • 6:30-8:30 p.m. – Strawberry Idol starts (open daily until May 18)
    • 8:30 p.m. – Disc-Connected K9 show
