BROWNSVILLE, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — Ten high school seniors were awarded $2,000 scholarships from the Brownsville Public Utilities Board.

BPUB funded these scholarships through its Project SHARE program. The funds are awarded to graduates for their upcoming studies at accredited higher education institutions this fall.

Students qualified for the scholarship by submitting an application detailing their academic and extracurricular achievements along with a 500-word essay. All recipients were required to reside in a household that received BPUB’s electric, water or wastewater services.
