    Brownsville car chase ends in multi-vehicle crash, DPS says

    BROWNSVILLE, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — A car chase in Brownsville ended in a multi-vehicle crash, according to authorities.

    According to the Cameron County Sheriff’s Office, Border Patrol initiated a pursuit which the sheriff’s office assisted with.

    The pursuit involved a 2018 Volkswagen, occupied by a male driver and a female passenger.

    According to DPS, the vehicle crashed into a gray Frontier occupied by one male driver, before rear-ending another vehicle, and ultimately crashing into a parked car. The crash occurred two blocks away from the Gateway International Bridge.

    The female in the Volkswagen was transported to a local hospital and her injuries were not described as major.

    Cameron County County Sheriff Eric Garza added that one person was taken into custody.
