Highway Patrol announces June 7th OVI Checkpoint on North Main Street in Bryan, OH
June 7, 2024, Press Release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Defiance Post: DEFIANCE – The Ohio State Highway Patrol, in conjunction with the Bryan Police Department and the Williams County Sheriff’s Office, announced today, that an OVI checkpoint will be held from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM tonight on North Main Street in Bryan, Ohio, in Williams County.

VAN WERT — YMCA Hickory Sticks Golf Club recently hosted Continental schools where 60-70 students came out and enjoyed the Foot golf area!. Hickory Sticks provides the community with growing recreational sports such as Foot golf and Frisbee golf. It has a nine-hole course. Frisbee and Foot golf are open to all youth and members of the Van Wert YMCA to enjoy, free of charge, throughout the summer months.

Ayersville Athletic Boosters Receive Two Grants
The Ayersville Athletic Boosters recently received a grant from the Defiance Area Foundation Community Fund, during the grant cycle ending in March, for $10,000! This money will be used for improvements to the baseball and softball facilities at Ayersville Local Schools. Ohio's Lt. Governor sees results of Ohio's Teacher Bootcamp program
VAN WERT, OH (WLIO) - Ohio's lieutenant governor is talking to teachers about efforts to keep graduates in the local workforce. Through the state-funded teacher boot camp program, educators from Van Wert and Lincolnview have been touring businesses around the county to learn more about the job opportunities that will one day be available to their students. Teachers say they've learned about companies that they didn't know existed and learned that some employers have a surprising range of different positions. For example, one agriculture business employs nurses to provide onsite healthcare.
Whoa, Man! rocks Fountain Park
VAN WERT— “Peony Festival, I love you! Van Wert, I love you guys!” Sunny Taylor told the crowd in Fountain Park on Friday night. Whoa, Man! founder and singer Taylor has been a solo acoustic act at the Festival for the last several years. This year she shared the stage with six other people, three of them female singers—Karis Schwab (keytar), Teresa Lyon (percussion), and Nevera Sandland (keyboards). Taylor also plays rhythm guitar.
