Employee slashed in head by robber at 99-cent store in Brooklyn

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Police are searching for a man wanted for slashing an employee at a 99-cent store in Brooklyn during a robbery last week.

At approximately 7 p.m. on Monday, March 18, the suspect entered the store at 1131 Fulton St. in Bedford-Stuyvesant then walked toward the exit with merchandise, authorities said.

According to officials, a store employee confronted the suspect who then struck him with an unknown sharp object, causing a laceration to his head.

EMS transported the victim to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in stable condition.

The suspect fled on foot eastbound on Fulton Street.

There have been no arrests made at this time. An investigation remains ongoing.
