6 kids among 8 injured in Bronx school bus crash

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Six children were among eight people who suffered minor injuries in a crash involving a school bus in the Bronx on Monday morning, according to the NYPD and FDNY.

The FDNY received a call around 7:40 a.m. about the crash at Edgewater Road and Bruckner Boulevard in Hunts Point.

A bus rear-ended a truck at the intersection at 7:30 a.m., police said.

Eight people were transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi with minor injuries, according to the FDNY.

Six kids, all between the ages of 12 and 16, complained of neck and back injuries, police said. They were in stable condition at the hospital.

The driver of the bus and the truck driver both stayed at the scene.

No arrests were reported.
