NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A motorcyclist who fled NYPD officers in the Bronx on Tuesday night was killed when he collided with a car and a light pole, sources told 1010 WINS on Wednesday.

Officers tried to pull over the 34-year-old man’s motorcycle, it's unclear for what, on Barker Avenue in the Allerton section shortly before 9:30 p.m.

He refused to stop and fled the wrong way down Barker Avenue, and police lost him, according to sources.

Soon after, he collided with a Kia at the intersection of Barker and Waring avenues, sources said.

He careened off of the Kia, hit a parked car and was ejected from his motorbike into a light pole, according to sources.

He was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was pronounced dead. Police haven't yet identified him.

No other injuries were immediately reported.

An investigation by the NYPD is ongoing.
