BRISTOL, Tenn. (WJHL)—The owner of Borderline Billiards said the business is anticipating reopening in May after a recent relocation and expansion project.

Janet Atwell told News Channel 11 on Wednesday that she plans to have a soft opening next week and intends to fully open to the public the week after.

Atwell previously told News Channel 11 that she chose to relocate the business to another building, 616 State Street, so she could add a more professional feel and have room to grow. On Wednesday, she said that the dream was falling into place, as some new billiard tables provided by Brunswick had been dropped off and put into place.

“For me, it signifies, ‘Hey, we’re close, we’re ready to open the doors, the new place is here,'” she said. “So it’s a huge day for me.”

Atwell said that some tables will include cameras, tablets and monitors that can stream pool matches and bring professional events to the business.

“We’re scheduled to have the first ladies pro event here May the first through the fifth, so no matter what, we’re going to have the doors open by May the first and hope to make a nice impact in downtown Bristol.”

Atwell said that although the business will host professional, high-end, and pro-am billiards tournaments, she’s made it a point to include events for people who don’t play pool.

“We’re trying to accommodate much more than just the average pool player; we’ve got darts, we’ve got foosball, we’ve got shuffleboard. It’s just a great place to come relax.”
