“We are in it for the long haul”: Students camp out on campus in solidarity with Gaza, demanding divestment
This is a developing story. Check back for regular updates. At 7:15 a.m. on Sunday, April 28, a group of about 40 students set up tents on McCullough lawn to show solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza. The students at the Gaza Solidarity Encampment — which continues to grow as more students bring their own tents — are prepared to remain on the lawn until their needs are met, or until graduation, which is a month away. The encampment is the first protest of this scale to take place in Vermont.

Middlebury earns lacrosse sweep of Amherst in NESCAC quarterfinals
MIDDLEBURY, Vt. (WCAX) - The undefeated Middlebury women’s lacrosse team took down Amherst 21-4 on Saturday, cruising to another berth to the NESCAC semifinal round. Just a couple hundred yards away, the men’s lacrosse team downed the Mammoths as well, 9-6. The women’s team will host Colby on Saturday, May 4 at noon. The men’s team will travel to Middletown, Connecticut where they will face Bowdoin on Saturday as well.
Addressing recent vandalism at the Knoll
The Knoll is a place to slow down. At Middlebury, life is constantly moving a hundred miles an hour. For many students, it is a place to breathe and step back. As Knoll interns, we have a lot of love for the space, and as such, it makes us incredibly sad to learn of the vandalism at the end of March. We understand that people make mistakes and get careless, but we do implore the community to respect all our shared spaces, including but not limited to the Knoll.

Remains found in Putnam believed to be woman dead for over 10 years
PATTERSON – Human remains found during excavation work at a property of a new home being constructed in the Town of Patterson do not belong to Robin Murphy, who has been missing for several years. The remains, police say, are believed to be those of a white female approximately between the age of 16 and 28 years of age.
