Pierre, Harrisburg girls soccer to meet in title match
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — No. 1 seed Pierre and No. 2 seed Harrisburg are set to meet in the Class AA girls soccer state championship. Second-seeded Harrisburg battled to a 2-0 win over No. 6 seed Yankton at home Tuesday night. The match was scoreless until the 65th minute when Sophia Hulstein capitalized with a header off a corner kick from Aubrey Zink. Taylor Syverson sealed the win with a left-corner boot to put the Tigers ahead by two.

Cross country teams race at West Sioux
HAWARDEN — Local cross country teams competed at the Hawarden Golf Club in a meet hosted by West Sioux on Thursday. Sioux Falls O’Gorman took the top spot in the girls and boys individual and team standings. Hinton was second in the team standings for the girls as the only other school to have enough runners to tabulate a team score.

Titans earn medal finishes at Conference Meet; compete at Huron this Thursday
The Tea Area High School cross country team opened the championship portion of its season Saturday in Pierre at the ESD Conference Championship Meet, highlighted by a first-place finish from Genevieve Decker in JV action and a historic varsity medal performance from Reid Hammerquist for the varsity boys. Despite hot conditions, the Titans turned in several strong performances among 420 athletes representing the conference’s 10 schools.
