Saints Fall in Four at Dakota State
MADISON, S.D. - The Carroll Volleyball team went toe-to-toe with Dakota State for four sets on Friday night at the DSU Fieldhouse, but the Trojans held on for a 3-1 win. The Fighting Saints (14-8, 9-6) were as close as it gets in two of the four frames, pushing the Trojans (13-8, 10-5) to extra points in the opener and to the final swing in the fourth, but DSU found a way to hold on for the win.

The Fighting Hawks (5-2) lost to No. 19 Northern Iowa 24-17 on the road a week ago, having already beaten Indiana State and Murray State in MVFC play. North Dakota enters this game in a state of flux, with starting quarterback Jerry Kaminski's status up in the air. Kaminski was injured in the fourth quarter of the Fighting Hawks' loss to Northern Iowa, and was seen on the sideline on crutches. South Dakota State head coach Dan Jackson said Kaminski's status for the game doesn't matter too much. Backup QB Javance Tupou'ata-Johnson went to North Dakota when head coach Eric Schmidt was hired from San Diego State, so Jackson knows there's something that makes the veteran backup dangerous. "We're not going to necessarily change a lot schematically, but you can have some variations and some tweaks within your base," Jackson said. "We're not going to trick ourselves. We're going to have some
