Woman dead after collision in Prestonia neighborhood

A woman is dead after striking a utility pole with her vehicle in the Prestonia neighborhood Nov. 4, according to a news release from Louisville Metro Police. LMPD officers responded to a report of a vehicle versus building collision in the 4000 block of Preston Highway around 9:04 p.m. Nov. 4, spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said. A preliminary investigation indicates an SUV was traveling northbound on Preston Highway when the woman driving the vehicle lost control and struck a utility pole. The vehicle came to rest against an apartment building, which is stable, Mitchell said. The woman received fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
