Route 1017 roadwork to begin Monday
PennDOT will be performing milling and paving work on Route 1017 (Delaware Drive) between Mill Rift Road and Avenue C beginning Monday, May 20 through the second week of June. Delaware Drive will be closed between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Emergency personnel and school buses will be granted access while work is being done. Motorists are encouraged to take an alternate route to avoid major delays in the Mill Rift area.

PHILLIPSBURG, NJ -- The Hunterdon Central softball team won the Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex Tournament championship with a 6-1 victory over High Point on Friday. Kaitlyn Kozak and Emily Van Cleef combined to pitch a one-hitter for the Red Devils (12-8). Kozak allowed one hit, one unearned run, walked none and struck out two in four innings. SUSSEX COUNTY, NJ – The Sussex County Board of Elections accepted the resignation of chair Daniel Perez. According to Sussex County Democratic Committee Executive Director James Santonastaso Perez resigned his position on May 11, citing “family and business obligations” as the reason for the “amicable” departure. Santonastaso said on that same day the SCDC submitted a candidate for the vacated seat to the governor’s office for consideration.
