Deputies of the Boyle County Sheriff’s Office, along with officers of the Harrodsburg Police Department, conducted a drug investigation that led to a traffic stop on Hubble Road near Lancaster Road on April 10.

During the traffic stop, deputies/officers learned that the passenger of the vehicle, identified as Shannon Penman, had an active warrant for his arrest. Shannon Penman was placed in custody and a search incident to arrest was performed. During the search of Penman, deputies/officers located approximately 4 ounces of methamphetamine. Located in the vehicle was a significant amount of cash, several empty distribution baggies, and a methamphetamine pipe.

Penman was arrested and transported to the Boyle County Detention Center to be lodged. During the strip search process, deputy jailers located a small baggie of suspected fentanyl on Penman’s person. The Boyle County Sheriff’s Office took custody of the baggie.
