The campus is listed for sale by global real estate advisory and services firm Newmark, headquartered in New York City. A price for the campus wasn’t posted on Newmark’s listing. “This is a unique opportunity to acquire a fully developed, purpose-built campus in a spectacular natural setting,” said Newmark Managing Director Bruce Westling in a news release. “With existing infrastructure that supports a wide range of academic and institutional uses, the property offers significant potential for the right strategic buyer. We’re excited to bring this legacy asset to market.” Separately, Northland College has engaged Huron Consulting Group’s commercial real estate team to advise Newmark, leveraging Huron’s deep experience and industry relationships in the higher education space to identify and introduce strategic academic buyers to this unique property opportunity, the release said. Northland College Board of Trustees have expressed interest in selling the college as a whole. Spanning 100 acres, the listing said the campus boasts 20 buildings, including a modern science building,

Fleet Farm plans for Bay Area in limbo
Fleet Farm has yet to decide if and when to begin constructing a store in the Bay Area. Years have passed since the popular farm and outdoors chain’s Director of Real Estate and Facilities Derrick Hoernke said it closed on the purchase of a plot of land formerly owned by Northern Clearing located near Ashland Ford Chrysler in the town of Eileen. At the time, he said “We are excited to open in Ashland,” and “we intend to build a store,” but declined to say when construction would start. No work on the site has taken place since then. On Oct. 14, Hoernke told the Daily Press the company still hasn’t made a decision. “We are in a wait and see mode with the current economy,” he said. The company’s plans call for a 91,952-square-foot store with a 280-stall parking lot on a 13.52-acre property. Also part of the proposal is a 2,730-square-foot gasoline station covered by a 4,000-square-foot canopy. Eileen Town Chairman Marty Milanowski has voiced support for the project, but not everyone feels the same way about Fleet Farm coming to town. Nearby landowners, who were informed about the development by the town, have expressed concerns about everything
