A juvenile was arrested in St. Clair after issuing a bomb threat because they did not want to go to school today, according to police. Police Chief Mike Wirt said in a statement his department received information about a possible bomb threat early Wednesday morning at the St. Clair R-XIII schools. Wirt said the threat was not directed against any building in particular. Three of St. Clair’s four school buildings share a campus.

Minnie Emily Ratliff, 83, of Bourbon, MO, known affectionately as Emily to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2023, at her home in Bourbon. Franklin County is nearly finished purchasing right of way for its part of the Union Expressway project. County commissioners voted Tuesday to buy property for a temporary construction easement and permanent drainage easement for the roundabout the county is responsible for building for the project. The county paid $3,100 to buy the property from the living trusts of Mark and Mary Pisane.

A Franklin County man is seriously injured in a rollover crash about seven miles east of his hometown.
