The Colorado Buffaloes are back in familiar territory after deciding to return to the Big 12 after leaving the conference in 2010 for the Pac-12.

The Buffaloes are also heading into Year 2 of the Deion Sanders era. Sanders once again flipped his team in the transfer portal. According to 247Sports, he finished with another Top-10 transfer class that included over 30 commitments.

Even with the roster turnover, ESPN's Pete Thamel is still doubtful about Colorado's potential entering next season. On the College Gameday Podcast , Thamel stated that he would take the under if Colorado's projected total was set at 5.5 wins for the Buffaloes.

"Looking now, I would take the under on 5.5," Thamel said.

Thamel said he talked to many NFL guys who evaluated Shedeur last season because he was draft-eligible. He feels Shedeur could be at the top of this upcoming NFL Draft quarterback class.

While Thame believes Shedeur has a lot of talent, he feels he has to improve if they are to surpass the projected win total.

"There is some arm talent, there is some great athleticism and he's put a lot of plays on tape that he really, really carried the ball," Thamel said. "Great feel for the game. You can blame a lot of people for 52 sacks, right? At a certain point, the quarterback has to get rid of the ball. Some of those, he's Bo Nixing around from his Auburn days. Obviously, the line stunk. That is plain. So, he needs to get better."

Ultimately, Thamel feels he's not as confident in what is around Shedeur to pick the Buffaloes to have a big year in the Big 12 in 2024.
