Shedeur Sanders has finally released the rap song he has been teasing since last summer. "Perfect Timing" was released Tuesday on Spotify and YouTube , 10 days after Colorado 's spring game at Folsom Field.
Shedeur , 22, announced the release of his first single on Instagram , posting a copy of its song art. The image shows the Buffaloes quarterback flashing a watch on his left wrist during pregame warmups.
Throughout the two-minute-long track, Shedeur raps about luxury cars, jewelry and watches. He boasts about his Audemars Piguet watch, baguette diamond necklace and Mercedes Maybach car in the hook. "Perfect Timing" has already been streamed almost 30,000 times. Releasing music is the latest way Shedeur is following in the footsteps of his father, Deion .
In December 1994, the San Francisco 49ers cornerback released a 16-track-long debut album, "Prime Time". The following February, he performed a medley of songs from the album, including the only single released, "Must Be the Money," while hosting " Saturday Night Live " weeks after winning Super Bowl XXIX.
Deion also released a remix album, "The Encore Remix," during his final year playing for the Baltimore Ravens before retiring from the NFL . Sanders Snr shared a snippet of his youngest son's single as far back as last July.
"Oh lord, now I gotta listen to your music, too," he remarks in a video after Shedeur plays the single through the speakers in his new Maybach. "I gotta listen to your song all the way through this commercial shoot, man?"
Deion then adds: "I'm about to freestyle this thing, break it down," before interjecting with ad-libs as the song plays in the background. However, much has changed in Boulder over the ten months since Shedeur recorded the track.
“We're good. We're good. I trust the recruiting team,” Sanders told reporters late last month. "I trust our coaches, and please have some faith in me. We're good. We are all right. What happens with the portal, man; you guys need to know a lot of people are fighting for backups.
"When a guy's a starter, and he transfers you got to really think about that. I mean, is he really that? I don't know how many starters have really transferred around the country ... but we can attract those types of players, I don't think we're losing those types of players. And if we do; we're good. We're good. Quit making a big deal out of nothing."
Sheduer also addressed the situation with reporters. “If you're not playing here, that just means you're doing something wrong. If you're not playing here, that means you're doing something - not listening to the coaches or something.” The quarterback is entering his second year in Boulder.
