A pair of Boston cops fulfilled a local resident’s birthday wish when they showed up to his home with a celebratory muffin and line of candles to blow out shortly after midnight on Thursday.

The man, who was turning 25, called authorities and said, “I want someone to say happy birthday to me,” according to the police department.

Officer Israel Bracho and his partner Franklin Ortiz originally were under the impression the call was a joke, but after verifying it really was the young man’s special day, they jumped into action, WHDH reported.

“Everyone has one birthday, so everyone deserves to feel special on that one day,” Bracho told the outlet.

Bodycam footage captured showed the man, named Chris, get to the door to greet the cops.

“We’re happy that you’re 25, that’s a big number,” one of the officers told Chris as the other cop lit the candles to the muffin, the footage shows.

“How old are you,” Chris asked, to which the officer replied, “Oh, we’re old men, we’re about 40.”

“We wish you the best birthday … you need anything else?” one of the officers said.

“Nothing, this is more than I can ask for,” Chris replied as he held the muffin up.

Bracho, one of the two officers, told WHDH that on their way there, they decided to pick up the muffin because “we can’t show up to someone’s house empty-handed. My mother raised me right — she would’ve killed me if I didn’t.”
