Just in time for Cinco De Mayo, Citrus + Salt will open its doors on Saturday in Fort Point.

One of Boston’s most fun and lively Mexican restaurants, Citrus & Salt, will be reopening in a larger space in the bustling Fort Point neighborhood on May 4th. Citrus & Salt’s new location at 321 A Street will be able to treat even more guests to its signature Mexicali flavors and coastal atmosphere.

Designed by Assembly Design Studio, the space promises to transport guests to the Baja coast of California and Mexico circa the 1970’s. Exuding airy, beachy vibes, Citrus & Salt’s new location will similarly feature bright pops of colors; fun, Instagrammable moments; and vibrant sugar skulls, flamingos, and flowers artfully hand-painted throughout. The new, larger space will boast an additional 40 seats indoors, a large outdoor patio, and a chic private room, “The Patron Room” – for a total of 16 seats.

Noted Chef and Restaurateur, Jason Santos, who also owns and operates Boston’s Nash Bar & Stage and Buttermilk & Bourbon, aims to channel the tried-and-true success of Citrus & Salt’s original location to its new one- replicating the overall experience and menu, with a few fun, new additions.

“We are super excited to move our Citrus & Salt restaurant across town to a newer and larger location which offers features that the restaurant needed as we have outgrown the existing space. Guests will now enjoy a larger dining room, additional private dining rooms, an expansive patio and an intimate Patron Room with some fun and exciting surprises for guests,” said Chef/Owner Jason Santos.

The new location of Citrus & Salt will offer dinner and weekend brunch will follow shortly after. There will also be a late-night dining program called “Tacos After Dark.” The menu will continue to offer a variety of shareable small plates showcasing playful, reimagined coastal MexiCali cuisine as well as plenty of raw bar options. Menu highlights will include signature favorites like the Tortilla-Crusted Baja Fish Tacos; Flam’n Hot Cheeto-Crusted Street Corn and Chilaquiles. Some of the new menu items will include: Nashville Hot Chicken Tacos, Tequila and Chipotle Steamed Mussels and Blue Crab Empanadas. There will also be a raw bar program featuring a variety of ceviche and oysters.

Imaginatively curated by Beverage Director Sarah Heimreid, guests can expect Citrus & Salt’s beverage program to continue to offer a wide variety of playful, eye-catching, and delicious options for imbibing. In addition to expansive offerings of beer, wine, and classic cocktails, Citrus & Salt will serve a variety of signature cocktails; margaritas featuring fresh fruit purées; tequila flights; shareable drinks; red and white sangrias; and non-alcoholic agua frescas. There will also be boozy dole whips and soft serve mimosas available.
