As a Portland Public Schools supporter, and as parent of two PPS students, I am dumbstruck and heartbroken by the PPS board decision to dissolve individual school-run foundations in favor of a district-run foundation, (“Parent fundraising to staff their own child’s school in Portland is off the table.
