Farmers Market opening day is April 27
Spring has finally sprung and, along with April showers and lots more sunshine, the highly anticipated opening of the Bonners Ferry Farmers Market is set for April 27. The farmers market is one of the community favorite events of the season as local vendors gather to display and sell their wares. From woodwork and homemade soap to local honey and baked goods, this year's vendors have a wide variety of items to offer. In addition, there are flowers, veggies and fruits also available for sale at the market.

From 1968 through 1978, March of Dimes made substantial donations to the Boundary Community Hospital. Several pieces of vital equipment were donated to the obstetrics unit - including new surgery lights, a light in the nursery to treat jaundiced babies, an incubator, a fetal heart monitor, and a resuscitator. Using this equipment, for many years thereafter, the doctors and obstetric nurses saved the lives of many infants.
Larry Ray Wycoff, 61
Larry Ray Wycoff passed away Friday, April 5, 2024. Larry was born July 14, 1962, in Moscow, Idaho. He spent his youth in the Moscow/Pullman area, moving to Big Lake, Alaska in 1976. Returning to Idaho in the early 1980s where he attended classes at the University of Idaho. Larry loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, target shooting as well as just plinking. He loved things that went fast, cars, motorcycles, 4-wheelers, etc., and was an avid NASCAR fan.
Carl Joseph Vinton, 76
Carl Joseph Vinton, age 76, of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, passed away on April 7, 2024, after a long battle with diabetes. He was born on February 18, 1948, the third of 14 children. As a child he grew up migrant farming, traveling from state to state harvesting fruits and vegetables. He had many great stories to tell of his childhood adventures.

A Yaak resident accused of kidnapping and assault with a weapon after two incidents outside of Troy last year was sentenced in Lincoln County District Court on Monday, April 15.Jeremy B. O’Day, 46, was initially accused of the aforementioned crime and a third felony count of criminal mischief after the alleged incidents on July 10, 2023.O'Day was in court on Feb. 26 for a change of plea hearing where he pleaded guilty to an amended charge of criminal endangerment.
