BONNERS FERRY — Bonners Ferry senior Asha Abubakari scored her 1,000th career point in the third basketball game of the season on Dec. 2. Going into the game against Stillwater Christian, Abubakari needed nine points to break the 1,000-point threshold. In the third quarter off a fast break from fellow senior Markynn Pluid, Abubakari scored a left-handed lay-in earning her 10th point of the game and her 1,001 point.

MOSCOW — Bonners Ferry High School alumni Eika Willis took second place overall at her second logging games competition for the University of Idaho on Nov. 10 and 11. Willis graduated from BFHS in 2022 and has joined the U of I’s Vandal Jacks C-team, one of the co-ed logger sports club teams that compete in woodsman competitions across the Northwest.
