The Inland Northwest celebrates Pride month
June 1st marks the beginning of Pride Month, an annual celebration of LGBT+ identities. While celebrations last all month and into the rest of the year, most events are characterized as marches and parades. Historically, these began following the 1969 Stonewall Riots: a series of protests in New York City resulting from gay bars being consistently raided by police. These first marches were held in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago, but today, they occur internationally.
