Lehigh Acres Park Expansion project completed
Chris-Tel Construction completed the Lehigh Acres Park Expansion project for Lee County. Lee County hosted a joint ribbon-cutting ceremony last month for the newly expanded park and a project launch for the LeeTran Park and Ride project. The park expansion is a response to the increasing Lee County population, particularly in Lehigh Acres, and enhances the Lee County Parks and Recreation offerings by providing dedicated spaces and facilities for softball, baseball and football leagues. The project included the construction of three football fields, restroom facilities, a disc golf course, locker rooms, a concession building, multiple pavilions and nature trails throughout the 34-acre site. Additionally, Chris-Tel Construction completed upgrades to the existing park, adding a new covered maintenance building, four new pickleball courts, and relocating the batting cages.

Estero’s Golf Coast Driving Range closed permanently April 30, as the village hopes to redevelop the area and build a new entertainment district. According to the Estero Forever Foundation, the organization that’s operated this range since 2022, the village is looking into a possible relocation. Estero Planning, Zoning and Design Board members were underwhelmed April 9 by the proposed design from a Texas-based developer for a planned entertainment complex on the 20-acre property on Williams Road.
