Fiscal Court Approves $41 Million County Budget

Titans Track Competes In Central Kentucky Conference
The Mercer County Titan track and field team traveled to Nicholasville on Friday, May 10, for the Central Kentucky Conference track meet hosted by West Jessamine. Both the boys and girls teams had several standout performers, but neither Mercer squad was able to claim the top spot in the team rankings. Mercer was without senior Donovan Wright, who more often than not wins the long jump competition at every meet he enters.
Burgin Baseball Celebrates Senior Andrew Hays
The Burgin Bulldogs (0-20) celebrated senior Andrew Hays before their final regular season game on Monday, May 13, when the Lincoln County Patriots (13-14) traveled to Burgin. JT Boswell started on the mound for the Bulldogs and struck out the first batter, but Lincoln County’s Seth Horton earned his fifth home run of the season a few pitches later and earned two early runs for the Patriots. Two more Patriot runners made it on base, but the Bulldog defense played the next two batters perfectly. Boswell, calm and composed, cut off the runner sliding into home plate for the third out.
City To Repair Main Street Starting This Week
Much needed repairs on several Harrodsburg streets—including Main Street—will begin Thursday, May 16. The Harrodsburg City Commission voted to repair the intersection of Office and Main Streets at a special-called meeting on Wednesday, May 15. The city commission voted to modify a change order for their 2023 agreement with Mago Construction for the maintenance and paving of city streets. According to Commissioner Charlie Mattingly, who oversees the public works department, repairs on Main Street will begin Thursday, with contractors working all day to mill, repave and stripe the intersection. As always with road construction, everything is weather dependent.
