Lehigh Acres gunman who tried to break into home still on the run
An unidentified gunman remains on the run following a shooting Wednesday at the Jim Fleming Ecological Park in Lehigh Acres. Deputies from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and collected bags of evidence; however, a suspect has not been named, nor has there been an update as to whether the alleged gunman is in custody.
Family of victim sues Lee County School District, claiming it failed to protect student
The family of a student who was sexually abused and sent graphic images by a former teacher sued the District in a civil lawsuit for “an excess of $50,000 in damages.” The lawsuit claims the student incurred medical and psychological injuries from her experience at Diplomat Middle School in Cape Coral.
