BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN)- Police said that an abandoned dog was found in a crate in Boardman Wednesday morning.

Police said that the dog was found outside of an animal rescue group on the 6300 block of Market Street around 7:15 a.m.

Officers said that the dog was a black and tan German shepherd mixed dog who appeared to be in good health. Police said that no pre-arranged drop-off of the dog was made and that it appeared to be abandoned.

The business contacted the Mahoning County Dog Warden to come and take custody of the dog and an abandoned animal report was filed.

Anyone with information should contact the Boardman Police Department.
