Will Mayfest road closures impact weekend plans in Old Town Bluffton?

The 44th annual Mayfest is in Bluffton this Saturday, but the associated road closures could cause headaches for those looking to navigate the streets around the event.

Mayfest starts at 10 a.m. with most Old Town Bluffton closed to vehicle traffic until 5 p.m.

The following roads will be closed:

• Calhoun St. and all intersecting side streets (Lawrence St., Church St. and Lawton St.) will be closed starting at 7:30 a.m. Saturday.
• May River Road, from Goethe to the four-way stop at Boundary St., will also close at 7:30 a.m. Saturday.

• Bridge St., from Boundary St. to Calhoun St., is closed starting Friday at noon

• Green St. is closed from Friday at 8 a.m. A stage will be on the street until Monday, the town said.

All roads are expected to reopen around 6 p.m. Saturday.

Business along these roads will still be accessible, but the town asks that patrons plan to park remotely and walk to the Calhoun Street area.
