Ongoing construction on Interstate-494 will shut down two ramps at the Highway 100 interchange beginning Wednesday night.

The ramp connecting westbound I-494 to southbound Highway 100 and the ramp connecting northbound 100 to westbound I-494 will both close at 10 p.m., according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

The ramp closures are expected to remain in effect until late June.

During construction, motorists traveling westbound on I-494 to southbound Highway 100 can use westbound I-494 to southbound East Bush Lake Road to eastbound I-494 to southbound Highway 100 as a detour route.

Motorists traveling northbound on Highway 100 to westbound I-494 can use northbound Highway 100 to 77th Street to southbound Highway 100 to westbound I-494 as a detour.

The $377 million interstate project between Edina and Richfield includes the addition of E-Z Pass lanes and other measures to extend the life of the road and bridges and reduce congestion.

The project, which is expected to wrap up in the fall of 2026, will bring various closures to the corridor this construction season.

Beginning Monday, May 13, 78th Street will close in both directions between Chicago Avenue and 12th Avenue for several weeks.

A extended closure of 79th street between Xerxes and Penn avenue also begins Monday and will remain in effect through early September.

A full list of road closures related to the project can be found on MNDOT's website here .
