Reminder to share the road following increase in bicycle fatalities and injuries in recent years
REDLANDS, Calif. – May is National Bicycle Safety Month, and the Redlands Police Department reminds drivers to share the road and offers tips for biking safely. Why it matters: The number of bicyclists killed and injured while riding bikes has increased in recent years, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. In 2022, 1,105 people were killed while riding a bike, a 15% increase from 2020. The number of bicyclists injured increased by about 20% between 2020 - 2022.

CIF BASEBALL PLAYOFFS: Summit earns No. 2 seed in Division 3 tournament
After a very successful regular season, Summit High School’s baseball team has earned the No. 2 seed in the CIF Division 3 playoffs. The SkyHawks, who achieved the undisputed Sunkist League title with a 10-2 record (23-5 overall), will play at home in the first round of the tournament on Friday, May 3 against Linfield Christian.
CIF BASEBALL PLAYOFFS: Miller will travel to Banning in first round on May 3
The Fontana A.B. Miller baseball team played very well at the end of the regular season and now will get set for CIF playoff action. After conquering Indian Springs, 12-7, on April 25, the Rebels wound up in a tie for second place in the Mountain Valley League with an 11-4 record (13-6-1 overall).

Girls On the Run ends Spring season with 5k run
Girls On the Run (GOTR) is hosting a 5K in Riverside on Saturday, May 4, to celebrate the end of their Spring season. Girls On the Run is helping young girls transform their lives by enhancing their self-confidence and teaching them critical skills to manage emotions, resolve conflicts, help others, advocate for themselves, and make intentional decisions.
Summit hosting sports physicals

Dos Pueblos softball dropped its CIF-SS Div. 3 Wild Card matchup with Martin Luther King High by a score of 10-0 on Tuesday in Riverside. After a scoreless first inning, the Martin Luther King offense woke up and scored seven runs across the second, third and fourth innings to pull away from the Chargers.
