BISMARCK, ND ( KXNET ) — Carry The Load will be traveling through Bismarck and Mandan.

According to a news release, Carry The Load is a non-profit that provides ways for Americans to connect to the sacrifices of military, veterans, first responders, and their families.

While the campaign kicked off on April 29, the movement won’t be in Bismarck until May 15, and Mandan on May 15 and 16.

People of all ages are welcome to join to honor and remember our fallen heroes.

This year, people will walk in the National Relay, which spans 20,000 miles, 48 states, and 69 community events — including 33 VA National Cemeteries.

New for this year, the campaign has a new element of innovation for a bigger impact — after registering , volunteers can download the Good Move app — which lets people track their fundraising progress and health activities.

“Memorial May unites thousands of people under a common purpose, and it’s been incredible to see participants honor our fallen heroes together,” said the Co-founder, President, and CEO, Stephen Holley. “We’re building on previous years’ momentum with elements like the Good Move app to deepen personal engagement and help particiaptns strengthen their connections with each other.”

Carry The Loads raises funds to help with the challenges military, veterans, first responders, and their families may face. The goal this year is $2 million in peer-to-peer fundraising.
