County postpones code compliance ordinance revisions
THE DALLES — The Wasco County Board of Commissioners heard two ordinances at their Wednesday, Feb. 21 meeting, one amending the Wasco County Code Compliance and Nuisance Abatement Ordinance, and one adding a Penalty Ordinance. After discussion from commissioners and staff, the board decided to postpone the hearings to March 20, due to concerns with the ordinances.

Welch, Shuman flip-flop top ski racing spots
Hood River Valley’s Lars Welch and Trout Lake’s Rowan Shuman highlighted boys individual competition Friday and Saturday during Mt. Hood Ski League events on Mount Hood. Skiers got in four slalom runs on Friday at Cooper Spur. Welch won the Feb. 23 morning session boys slalom race with the fastest runs of 26.10 seconds and 26.86 for a combined time of 52.96. Shuman was third in 55.51 and The Dalles’ Cooper Klindt was sixth in 1:01.91.
