Baileyville’s Betty Troiani continues 64-year candlepin bowling career
BAILEYVILLE, Maine (WABI) - Baileyville’s Betty Troiani has been bowling for 64 years. “Well, I had always liked sports. I had never touched a bowling ball or had been in a bowling alley. A woman came in to where I was working and asked if I’d like to bowl. I said yeah, so I came on bowling as a bottom bowler. I bowled that first half. I substituted about every night, and I went up to captain. I stayed there for a long time, and now I’m older. I’m going down, but I’m still in first place, so not too bad for an 89-year-old,” said Troiani.
