Wittenberg Man Killed in Shawano County Crash
WITTENBERG, WI (WSAU) — A 74-year-old man died in a single-vehicle crash along Highway 153 in the Town of Wittenberg on Tuesday. Officers say a passerby reported a vehicle in the ditch at about 7:00 PM. When officers arrived they found the vehicle had drifted off the road, struck a tree, and continued into the ditch.
Wausau Native Faces Drug Charges in Northeast Wisconsin Tribal Communities
SHAWANO, WI- Charles Parham, 41, a former resident of Wausau, is facing indictment on drug-related charges spanning two Northeast Wisconsin tribal communities. The charges against Parham include one count of distributing heroin and one count of possessing fentanyl with the intent to distribute. These offenses occurred in late September and mid-October 2023, respectively.

Lind Town Hall swamped

A decision to grant a conditional use permit for a proposed nonmetallic mine near Iola has been postponed again. The Waupaca County Planning and Zoning Committee held a public hearing Dec. 5 on the proposal by Faulks Brothers Construction Inc. of Waupaca for the mine, which would be held on Iola Car Show grounds in the town of Scandinavia.
