Bensalem police are investigating whether a business owner was targeted after nearly $200,000 in cash was stolen from his car while it was parked at a gas station on Monday.

A 43-year-old Bristol Township man was arrested and charged with the theft within one day, but $150,000 of the cash remains missing, police said.

Bensalem police reported the victim, who owns a skill machine in the area, parked his Tesla at a gas station in the 2700 block of Knights Road on April 29 evening while he was servicing a machine.

When the victim returned to the car he saw someone had broken his window and stolen two cardboard boxes in the backseat containing $190,000, according to a news release.

Surveillance video of the scene led police to Christopher Plytas as a suspect. Officers arrested him at his home and recovered $40,000 in cash.

He was held on $2 million bail.

Detectives are still investigating the heist, including whether anyone else was involved.
