ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) — A Belton mill fire is being investigated by firefighters and state law enforcement.

According to the Belton Fire Department, a call came in around 8:11 p.m. Saturday regarding smoke and fire coming from the office of Blair Mill on 115 Little Street.

Blair Mill was an operating textile mill until it shut down in 2010.

Firefighters were at the scene by 8:14 p.m. and put out the flames while searching the property.

During the search for hidden fires, firefighters found several fires in separate locations.

At that point, the State Law Enforcement Division was called to help determine the origin and cause of the blaze.

Officials found no one in the building.

The department added that there were no injuries to anyone, and that the fire is still being investigated by Belton Police, the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office to get more information.

Anyone with information about the fire is asked to call (864) 260-4444 and ask to speak with a Belton Police Officer or call Belton Fire at (864) 338-7048.
