Jackson County in Kansas City, Mo., recently turned down a stadium ballot initiative that would have helped build the Royals a new stadium and renovated Arrowhead Stadium for the Chiefs. Now, the state of Kansas has offered both franchises new facilities for free because of the new revenue and notoriety it would bring the state. The Chiefs seem to be the main focus with a domed stadium that can host all-season concerts, a Final Four or Super Bowl in the state of Kansas.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - If you are heading out to watch the boys in blue this weekend, Friday will be the best day!. The first pitch is at 6:40 p.m. Friday. Temperatures will be in the low 70s and a bit breezy with northwest winds 10-15 mph. By the end of the game, temperatures will drop to the mid-60s.
Kansas City Royals games dropped by Comcast after Bally Sports contract expires
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Thousands of Kansas City Royals fans will no longer be able to watch the boys in blue on cable. Comcast notified customers Wednesday morning that it could not reach an agreement with Diamond Sports Group, and Xfinity’s deal to broadcast Royals games on Bally Sports expired.
Pilot season of girls flag football underway at KCPS
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - It was game day Friday for Kansas City Public Schools students participating in the pilot season for their girls’ flag football. “This is amazing,” said Brittani Hendrix, head coach for the Paseo Academy of Fine & Performing Arts’ girls’ flag football team. “This is a sport where a lot of our girls have gone out before, but they’ve always had to be on a boys’ team and things like that. Being able to come out today in this pilot season this year is huge.”
Jackson Co. voters could see Chiefs-only stadium tax on November ballot
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Jackson County voters may have to make a decision about the future of the Kansas City Chiefs as soon as November. Jackson County Legislator Manny Abarca announced that he submitted legislation to the Jackson County Legislature for consideration. He’s asking for a special election to add one of the two options to the Nov. 5, 2024 ballot.
