    Beloit Memorial boys track team wins at Union Grove

    UNION GROVE, Wis. — Beloit Memorial’s boys track team had its most productive meet in a long time, finishing first in a five-team competition hosted by Union Grove on Monday.

    The Purple Knights scored 87 points with runnerup Waterford finishing with 72. Racine St. Catherine’s was third with 46, followed by Union Grove (45) and Catholic Central (2).

    Beloit swept the four relays and picked up six individual first places with both Trey Beasley and Dontavious Olson collecting two apiece.

    Beasley won the high jump, matching his personal-best of 5-10, and also PRed to win the triple jump (38-5.25).

    Olson won the 110-meter high hurdles with a PR of 17.75 seconds with teammate Beasley finishing third in 19.22. Olson also won the 300 hurdles in 43.41 with Aidan Donovan finishing second (50.05) and Noah Fry taking fifth (55.49).

    Sean Leavy won the 1600 in a PR of 5:21.44 and Aidan Greenlee won the 3200 in a PR of 11:53.75.

    Beloit’s 4x800 relay team of Brayden Bye, Leonardo Rosas-Flores, Leavy and Armando Gonzalez finished first with a time of 9:53.99.

    The Knights’ 4x200 team of Vinson Reed, Caiden Price, Olson and Tevin Anderson won in 1:36.67.

    Beloit also won the 4x100 relay with Reed, Brian Cunnigan-Little, DeMire Young and Anderson finishing in 46.81.

    Beasley, Z’Zavion Voss, Andrew Cafengiu and Elisha Evans made it a clean sweep for the Knights by winning the 4x400 relay in 3:52.34.

    Armando Gonzalez was second in the 400 (56.01). Evans was third (25.02), Cunnigan-Little fourth (25.22) and Caiden Price fifth (25.28) in the 200.

    Devin Froemming took third in the discus (106-10) and Jacob Popp was fourth (101-11). Bradley Harding was fourth in the shot put (35-8.50). The Knights’ top two throwers, Jaedyn Coleman and Tucker Sherrod, got the night off.

    Elisha Evans took fifth in the 100 (12.28). Leonardo Rosas-Flores was fifth in the 800 (2:35.08).

    Beloit’s girls finished third with 47 points. Union Grove won the meet with 91 and Waterford was second with 48. Racine St. Catherine’s had 45 and Catholic Central had 12.

    Jaslyn Gama was a double-winner, taking first in the 400 in a PR of 1:03.19 and also winning the 300 hurdles in a PR 50.15. Teammate Kori Burnett was third in the 300 hurdles (59.11).

    Beloit’s Essence Coleman and Audrey Mills-Brown went 1-2 in the 200 meters. Coleman finished in a PR 27.71 and Mills-Brown finished in 28.18. Naima Brooks was fourth in 29.02. Coleman was also third in the high jump (4-6).

    The Knights won a pair of relays. Beloit’s 4x200 relay team of Naima Brooks, Coleman, Mills-Brown and Antonia Mance finished first in 1:54.71.

    The Knights’ 4x100 team of Laila Lee, Brooks, Mance and Coleman won in 54.48 seconds.

    Beloit’s Mance finished second in the 100 (14.42).

    Jadyn Gibson was fifth in the shot put (25-0.50).
