    Bellingham home rental prices up again; some Whatcom County towns cost $750 less per month

    Rental homes and apartment listing prices in Bellingham increased last month, although certain cities and neighborhoods have extremely different prices, according to rental housing data companies.

    Bellingham rent prices by ZIP code

    If you are looking for an affordable rental in Bellingham, looking in the 98225 ZIP code could save you about $100 a month compared with 98226’s median rental prices.

    Rental prices fluctuated throughout Bellingham in both the 98225 and 98226 zip codes. RentHub reports median rental listing prices for houses, multiplexes and apartments of all sizes.

    Prices in Bellingham:

    ▪ Increased in the 98225 ZIP code from March’s average of $1,750 to $1,850 in April.

    ▪ Increased in the 98226 ZIP code from March’s average of $1,925 to $1,949 in April.

    Whatcom County rental cost changes

    Renthub also compared median rent prices by year. Compared with April 2023, April 2024’s median rent prices:

    ▪ Increased by 7% in the 98226 ZIP code.

    ▪ Increased by 8.8% the 98225 ZIP code.

    ▪ Increased by 1.3% in the 98248 ZIP code.

    ▪ Increased by 23.8% in the 98229 ZIP code.

    ▪ Decreased by 3.8% in the 98230 ZIP code.

    ▪ Decreased by 7% in the 98264 ZIP code.

    Renting in the 98264 ZIP code could save you $750 per month compared to the 98230 ZIP code.
