BEECH BOTTOM, W.Va. (WTRF) — West Virginia has given the go-ahead for a $12.1 million wastewater treatment project in Beech Bottom to move forward.

At its meeting on May 1st, the Infrastructure and Jobs Development Council approved the technical review from the Brooke County Public Service District.

The village is now able to begin the process of seeking funding.

The Council also announced more than $14 million for proposals in Wyoming, Braxton, Mineral, Harrison, Ritchie, Marion, Kanawha and Roane Counties.

The West Virginia Infrastructure and Jobs Development Council was formed by the state legislature in 1994 as a funding clearinghouse for local water projects.
