Darlene Fish visited a booth at Bedford's first farmer's market of the season Saturday to purchase a plant.

Her granddaughter, Emerson Fish, was working the stand for the Lincoln Elementary Green Thumbs Gardening Club, which sells plants from the school's garden. This is Emerson's second year working at the farmer's market.

Nearby, Daniel Collins was buying a bracelet from Riley Banks, who is part of Deanna's Diamond Art & Charms. This is the vendor's debut year at the market.

In regard to making jewelry, Banks said, "I've just picked it up the last couple of months. We decided to try to sell it at the Farmer's Market. (Making jewelry is) fun to do."

Blooming With Life Flower Farm was also there selling bouquets of fresh cut blooms.

The market runs 8 a.m. to noon May 18 to Oct. 26 on the Lawrence County Courthouse grounds in downtown Bedford.
