Arthur Whittington Celebration of Life
CUERO, Texas - A celebration of life for former Cuero and NFL star Arthur Whittington will be held Saturday morning at 11. The service will be at the Cuero Performing Arts Center, 920 East Broadway Street, right next to Gobbler Stadium, where Whittington first shined as a member of Cuero's great 1970s teams.

A cool front arriving overnight Thursday night will bring some heat relief dropping highs back into the 80s. An isolated shower or weak thunderstorm is possible ahead of the front on Thursday night and during the day on Friday, but currently very unlikely. Thunderstorm chances greatly increase for Mother's Day and the following Monday. Severe weather appears unlikely at the moment.

18-wheeler rollover spills oil, laundry detergent on highway; I-10 West outside of Seguin closed
SAN ANTONIO – An 18-wheeler rollover crash has shut down part of a highway near Seguin early Tuesday morning. The crash happened on Interstate 10 West, east of San Antonio. Transguide reports that the main lanes of I-10 from FM 775 to FM 465/Linne Road are presently closed. It is unclear exactly how the crash occurred.
MISD employees could see insurance increase
Teachers and staff members at Moulton ISD may be seeing an 8% increase in employee insurance. This was discussed at the May 1 school board meeting. Currently, there are 51 employes who are utilizing the school’s insurance. The district pays $273,000 for the total employees. The extra amount with this increase would come out to an additional $35.76 per month for hourly employees. The district is one of the few schools in the state of Texas that covers the insurance for their employees.
