Upcoming Lake Oswego concert hopes to evoke light at church sanctuary
The Lake Grove Presbyterian Church hopes to illuminate its sanctuary through music during its upcoming spring concert. The concert, which will culminate the Lake Grove Concert Series, is titled “Illuminaire” and will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 1 at the church sanctuary on 4040 Sunset Drive. The concert will include performances from the 85 sanctuary volunteer singers as well as 15 chamber musicians within the Oregon Symphony. ...
Molalla OKs $8 million in police facility bond spending
With the preliminary work essentially done, the Molalla City Council took a big step toward the completion of the new Molalla Police facility. The Council gave the okay at its May 7 meeting to more than $8 million in bond fund expenditures to get the project rolling in a serious fashion. The amendment between the City of Molalla and P&C Construction puts the best foot forward for the project. Now, with the go-ahead given, things will start to ramp up.
Fentanyl overdose death report finds risk for Hispanic residents is growing
Six years ago, fentanyl overdoses caused fewer than three deaths each month in Multnomah County. By 2022, more than 22 people died from fentanyl overdoses each month. Preliminary data for 2023 shows that on average, at least one Multnomah County resident died of a fentanyl overdose each day.

From April 25 to April 30, DHM Research conducted a survey of 600 voters in the Portland metro region on behalf of The Oregonian/OregonLive. The survey solicited opinions from adults living in Multnomah, Clackamas and Washington counties. Multnomah County residents were oversampled, with 300 taking the poll, but results were adjusted to reflect the view across the metro area.
