BEAUMONT — A Beaumont convicted felon has been sentenced to federal prison for possessing a firearm in a social media post, announced Eastern District of Texas U.S. Attorney Damien M. Diggs.

Reginald Guillory Jr., 19, pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm and was sentenced Friday to 51 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Marcia Crone.

According to information presented in court, on July 3, 2022, Guillory was involved in a fight at an apartment complex in Beaumont.

The fight was posted on social media.

During that fight Guillory possessed a firearm, which was clearly visible in the social media post.

Officers recovered that firearm and determined Guillory was a convicted felon and prohibited by federal law from owning or possessing firearms or ammunition.

This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Beaumont Police Department.

This case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Russell James.
