Motorcycle Accident Claims Life
Friday afternoon an Orange man lost control of his motorcycle in Beaumont on College Street and died from his injuries. Terry Champeaux, 22, of Orange, was traveling west on Hwy. 90 in Jefferson County when he lost control and crashed. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance where he succumbed to his injuries. Authorities said he was not wearing a helmet.

Man Indicted For Soliciting
A Jefferson County Grand Jury has indicted 35 year old Christopher Honkomp of Orange for Solicitation of a Minor. On May 17 deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, along with the FBI and Beaumont PD, conducted an undercover operation where officers posted ads on a site known for human trafficking. Officers were contacted by Honkomp, who agreed to pay a fee for sexual intercourse with a female under the age of 18. Honkomp entered a Beaumont hotel room where he was arrested.
